Long before I knew the word architecture, I was already living it. As a child, I spent hours deciding where the doors and windows of a Lego house should go. Years later, I stacked concrete blocks with my own hands and built something that felt like home.
I'm Hajir Hidaji, an architectural technologist, residential designer, and visual artist based in Calgary, Canada.
For me, architecture is a conversation between people and the spaces they live in, shaped by light, material, and memory.
My strength is the start of a project: research, concept, and the overall approach. Since 2018, I've set the concept for residential projects and developed them with design teams and engineers.
I've worked freelance and with architecture studios on homes, small multi-unit buildings, renovations, and facades, and I've coordinated with contractors on site.
In Calgary, I'm completing the Architectonic program at FarMor Architecture, where I produce construction documentation in Revit to Canadian code.
Drawing and photography are still at the heart of my creative practice, and I've led small hand-sketching workshops.
I'm looking for a role as an architectural technologist in Calgary, and I'm open to design collaborations.
